ARTISTIC roller skater Emma Thiele continues to show signs of her potential on the national stage after winning silver at last weekend British Free Championships.

Her latest podium finish came just two weeks after Thiele claimed third at the British Dance Championships.

The 13-year-old St Monica's High School pupil is now a regular on the international circuit and has been selected to represent Great Britain in both the free and dance squads at a competition in Portugal later this year.

Thiele is one of a number of young skaters who train at Bolton Artistic Roller Skating Club to be picked for international duty.

Dad Stephen said: "Me and Emma's mum, Sue, are very proud of her. Her performance at the weekend was fantastic and brought tears to our eyes."
