PRESTWICH Heys were held to a 2-2 draw by Walshaw in their final pre-season friendly on Monday night.

The Manchester League Premier Division side, featuring several Heys Old Boys, staged a second-half fightback after Heys had opened up a two-goal lead.

Michael Itela had given them the early lead and it stayed that way until midway through the second half, when Jacob Holt headed home to increase the lead.

However, Walshaw hit back with two quick-fire goals from Martin Love and Lee Chapman to earn a draw.

Attention now turns to the start of the league campaign on Saturday, with Heys at home to Bacup, kick off 3pm.
