PRESTWICH extended their unbeaten run in Division One of the Lancashire Amateur League to 12 matches with a comfortable 6-2 win at Farnworth Town on Saturday.

Despite knowing promotion was out of their grasp, after top two Oldham Hulmeians and Blackrod Town moved out of reach with recent wins, the third-placed side powered into a 4-0 lead before half time.

Steve Murty was at the heart of everything for Mike Kosub's men, setting up the opener for Darren Buckley before scoring twice then laying on the fourth for Connor Hart.

And while Farnworth halved the deficit with two goals after the break, the visitors pulled away again with late strikes from Martin Hill and Richard Steadman.

Prestwich have two matches remaining, travelling to Castle Hill on Saturday before entertaining Hesketh Casuals on May 7.
