PRESTWICH booked their place in this season’s Lancashire FA Cup final with a 6-4 win against Tottington last Saturday.

Tottington started brightly at the County Ground in Leyland, but conceded against the run of play from a penalty on 20 minutes.

A well-taken second was added 10 minutes later but Prestwich were by no means dominating at this stage.

Tottington continued to create chances and found a foothold in the game with an excellent finish from Adam Nuttall with 35 minutes on the clock.

The initiative was swinging to Tottington and they looked dangerous in attack and levelled through Nuttall’s second on 40 minutes.

With Prestwich’s defence now looking jittery, Totty capitalised to go in 4-2 up at the break thanks to goals from Bushby and Hunter.

The next goal would be crucial and it went to Prestwich three minutes after the restart.

The dangerous Prestwich forwards then took their opportunity to decide the tie with an equaliser on 65 minutes and then two more goals on 75 and 85 minutes.

Prestwich return to Lancashire Amateur League on Saturday when they entertain Horwich Victoria, kick off 2.30pm.
