YOUNGSTERS from the Bury Cricket Development Group Under-11s entered and won the Christmas Bash at the Cricket Asylum in Sowerby Bridge.
Against some seriously good opposition the boys' qualities shone through in all aspects – proper batting, outstanding bowling and awesome fielding.
Coach Pete Staley said: "The Northern Star Super Kings, made up of players from a host of Bury clubs, won the Christmas Bash U11s Indoor Cricket Competition at The Cricket Asylum in Sowerby Bridge.
"We played five games and won them all, beating a strong Elland side in a tight final.
"The lads have taken the opportunity to develop skills in a fun and competitive environment.
"Thanks to Northern Star for the sponsorship and to the parents and players for committing to the event over the busy Christmas period."
