SIX stolen "high-powered" cars from across Greater Manchester have been found in a chop shop.
Police were sent to a garage in Abbey Hey in Gorton and discovered the vehicles were inside with checks showing that they had been taken.
The cars were seized and police are now investigating the case.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "Officers received intelligence that a chop shop was operating in Abbey Hey.
"Officers attended location and a number of cars were chopped up in the garage.
"They were shown stolen from all over Greater Manchester.
"These were then seized.
"There were, in total, six-high powered vehicles chopped up and stored inside this garage.
"Enquiries are still ongoing to find the culprit behind this."
A chop shop is a place where criminals sell stolen cars to.
Sometimes the cars are stolen to order, depending on what vehicle the chop shop wants to "repair".
If the parts aren’t used to "repair" an existing vehicle, the serial numbers are often removed and the parts sold on websites to unwitting buyers.
