FIREFIGHTERS were sent to an industrial estate last night, Sunday, after concerns over the spillage of a chemical.
Two fire engines, a hazmats officer and a station manager were sent to Woolford Trading Estate in Bury at around 10pm after a gluey substance had been spilt.
The substance, which had spilt from a large drum, was heading towards the grounds of Elton Primary School on Alston Street.
But after close examination, it was discovered that it was a foam substance that does not cause harm.
A spokesman for the fire service said it was cleared up by Bury Council staff.
Crews were in attendance until around midnight.
