A PLATFORM is being offered for fledgling firms and start-ups to get a foothold with a Bury business academy.

Supporters of the Made in Bury initiative have issued a call-out for their Class of 2020 so directors and entrepreneurs can find out more.

A 'discovery' meeting will be taking place via Zoom at 6pm on Tuesday, June 30.

A Made in Bury spokesman said: "Through a funded course of 18 bespoke modules, the academy gives advice and coaching around everything from branding and social media to legal, HR, finance and much more.

"With access to local experts, plus pointers towards training and funding alongside a workbook of essential tools, documents, and templates to build up over the 12-month period, the business scademy provides a solid foundation to grow and succeed.

"You'll be learning with likeminded business owners who become your support network and as you progress through the course, you'll build relationships with these businesses owners that will then continue throughout your new venture.

"You can share ideas, support each other and network within a private Facebook group for your academy class and gain valuable feedback on new products, innovations and ideas."

In order to qualify, would-be candidates must have been trading for two years or less, they say.

The business academy is part funded by the Made in Bury Weekly £2,000 draw, which features every week in the Bury Times

This not-for-profit initiative is licensed by Bury Council and helps to nurture successful entrepreneurship in Bury.

Draw tickets are priced at £2, with a limited number available to entrants. The draw is made every Wednesday.
