A BLACK Lives Matter protest is set to be staged in Prestwich today.
The protest will take place at the Longfield Centre car park from 5.45pm.
Participants will "kneel for George Floyd" at 6pm.
Organisers say the protest will be strictly social-distanced.
Each household that attends will be asked to occupy and remain in a marked parking bay, with diagonal spacing between them, to maintain a distance of two metres.
Face masks must also be worn, organisers have insisted.
The protest has been organised in the wake of the death of George Floyd — a black man living in the United States who died in police custody.
Thousands of anti-racism protesters marched through the streets of Manchester last weekend as demonstrations were held across the US and UK.
Another Black Lives Matter protest has been organised to take place in Bolton on Saturday.
