A 16-year-old was taken to hospital after suffering injuries in a knife attack.
The incident happened near to the junction of Bury Old Road and Heywood Road in Prestwich on the evening of May 23.
A man was arrested and is currently on bail, as the attack is under ongoing police investigation, officers confirmed.
The wounded teenager is said to currently be in a stable condition in hospital.
Following the attack police have sought to reassure residents and stepped up patrols in the area.
In a Tweet, officers from GMP Prestwich said: "It is believed that this is an isolated incident and police patrols have been and will remain in the area for reassurance."
