GREEN fingered housing tenants are being invited to show off their horticultural handiworks as a gardening competition returns.

Six Town Housing's annual gardening contest is in full bloom, with prizes on offer for the best pots, plots, lawns and landscapes across the borough.

Tenants can enter in to six categories: the best front and back gardens, small spaces, DIY projects, edible gardens and improvements that have been carried out during the lockdown.

The winner of each category will scoop a £25 online shopping voucher.

A Six Town Housing spokesman, said: “Every year, we love seeing all the entries from our tenants and we didn’t want that to stop during these challenging times, especially as gardening can have such positive effects on a person’s wellbeing.”

The competition is open to all tenants and residents living in homes managed by Six Town Housing.

Groups who volunteer within the surrounding communities can also enter.

The deadline for entries is Friday June 26, 2020.

Due to the ongoing lockdown organisers will be running the competition in line with Government guidelines to reduce unnecessary contact.

This means the contest will be overseen entirely online with entrants asked to submit photos and videos to be reviewed by judges.
