THE hunt is on for Bury’s ‘Corona Heroes’ as part of one of the borough’s showpiece celebrations.

Promoters of the Pride of Bury awards are seeking nominations to recognise those who have tackled the Covid-19 crisis head-on.

Community volunteer hubs have benefitted from the input of selfless souls - and Bury folk have been keeping young and old entertained online during the lockdown.

In memory of Joshua Wilson - SuperJosh - the awards are in their sixth year.

Dawn Fidler, Josh’s mum and founder of the Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour Charity is a Pride of Bury organiser and said: “We are all going through really challenging times. However, these tough times are bringing out the very best in our local communities.

“So many ‘ordinary’ people are doing extraordinary things to help their neighbours, support the NHS and help save lives. We want to widen our search for local heroes for the 2020 Awards to celebrate all the Bury Corona Heroes out there – and we know there are thousands.”

For details of how to nominate, across 14 categories, go online to www.prideofbury.co.uk and put forward the names of your heroes.
