A SOCIAL service office for teenagers has been temporarily closed due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.

The Connexions Bury hub in Knowsley Place has been shut, Bury Council confirmed.

However, other services offered by Connexions are still available, including its helpline.

The helpline is open Monday to Friday, between 10am and 4pm, to people aged 14 to 18, or up to 25 for people with additional needs.

A Bury Council spokesman said: "A Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus outbreak, the Connexions Bury office in Knowsley Place is closed. However, we are trying to offer our services flexibly.

"Connexions Bury has a helpline for young people aged 14-18. Our friendly team of advisers can help with information, advice and guidance, not just about careers, but if young people are anxious about their applications to college, finance worries, exam grades or just to talk to someone."
