POLICE were called out last night to reports of concerns for a man's welfare in Radcliffe.

An eyewitness said that a man was "threatening to jump from a high railway bridge."

The incident happened at around 6pm last night, with police able to safely bring the man back down.

The incident in Pilkington Way in Radcliffe saw several police and vehicles attend the scene.

A Greater Manchester Police (GMP) spokeswoman said: "We were called at 18.06 to Pilkington Way to reports of the concern for the welfare of a man.

"Officers attended and the man was brought down safely and went to hospital."
