A NEW two-storey building is set to be built at the end of a parade of shops on Butterstile Lane in Prestwich.

The new premises will accommodate a shop on the ground floor and a two-bedroom flat above it.

The building will benefit from an existing service road behind the rectangular plot and on-street parking nearby.

But three residents on Carr Avenue have objected to the planning application.

They fear the new building would cause more traffic and parking problems at an "already bad spot".

The planning committee approved the application at a town hall meeting on Tuesday.
