THE line-up for this year's Festwich music festival has been announced.

A packed roster of more than 30 tribute bands to some of the biggest names in rock, punk and heavy metal are preparing to this thrill crowds this summer in what organisers are calling the event's "biggest line-up yet".

Headlining the free, two-day music extravaganza will be tributes to Queen and The Rolling Stones.

Announced to be rocking Saturday's stage are tributes to acts from the heavier side of rock including Guns n' Roses, ACDC, Kiss, Iron Maiden, Nirvana, Faith No More, Tool, System of a Down, and Green Day.

Saturday will also see tributes to The Big Four of thrash metal ­— Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax ­— blitz a special second stage known as Area 51 - The Hanger.

Then on Sunday things turn to the legendary Manchester sound and alternative rock with tributes to Foo Fighters, The Cure, Arctic Monkeys, Madness, The Killers, Noel Gallagher, Daft Punk, Pearl Jam, Fall Out Boy, Bon Jovi, New Order, REM, Joy Division and The Smiths.

Festwich 2020 will take place in St Mary's Park, Prestwich, on July 25 and 26.

Free tickets will be available from 10am on January 24 ­— all you need to do is pay the delivery fee.

All age groups must buy a ticket and under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
