A SCOUT troop is on the look out for a new leader for its Beaver Colony.

The 52nd Bury (1st Unsworth) Scout group has launched an appeal for a new member to join its leadership team.

It follows the retirement of the former leader, although the Beaver section still has two assistants.

Prospective leaders would be responsible for helping to run the section at its weekly meetings at Hollins Community Centre, as well as on camps, trips and other outings.

Louise Daveron, an assistant leader, said: "Our successful Beaver section of the 52nd Bury (1st Unsworth) Scout group is looking for extra help.

"The current leader has retired, but we still have two assistants who are staying, so we are searching for someone to replace the leader.

"If you just want to come along and help in any way at all that would also be great."

The 52nd Bury (1st Unsworth) Beavers meet on Wednesday evenings from 6pm to 7pm at the centre in Hollins Lane.

Beaver Colonies are the first and youngest section of a Scout troop and is for youngsters aged between six and eight years old.
