A THIEF who stole two charity boxes has been jailed for 12 weeks. Manchester magistrates heard how Andrew Hutchinson, aged 40, of Castlecroft Road, Bury stole one box, belonging to the British Heart Foundation, on October 3 and another box, belonging to McDonalds, on September 17. Magistrates heard that, at the time, Hutchinson was subject to post sentence supervision and was on bail. In addition to the prison sentence, Hutchinson was ordered to pay £200 in compensation.

A MAN who attacked a woman, causing her actual bodily harm has been ordered to do 220 hours of unpaid work by magistrates. At Manchester Magistrates’ Court Aaron Blundell, aged 27, of Winchester Road, Radcliffe, pleaded guilty to committing the offence on April 18 and assaulting a man. In addition to the unpaid work, he was ordered to participate in 20 days of rehabilitation activities, pay £300 in compensation and £175 in costs and charges.

MAGISTRATES have ordered a man to undertake 60 hours of unpaid work after he admitted assaulting a police woman on October 6. Ben Lewis, aged 21, of Dalton Close, Ramsbottom was also ordered to participate in 15 days of rehabilitation activities and pay £175 in costs and charges.

A MAN has been electronically tagged after he admitted threatening a man on October 13. At Manchester Magistrates’ Court Shaun Greenhalgh, aged 33, of Princess Parade, Bury, was made subject to a 7pm to 7am curfew for 12 weeks, ordered to participate in six months of drug rehabilitation and 20 days of rehabilitation activities. The court also ordered Greenhalgh to pay £175 in costs and charges and A restraining order was made banning him from contacting his victim.

MAGISTRATES have fined a man £80 after he pleaded guilty to fraudulently using a vehicle registration plate. Anthony Moran, aged 42, of Cross Lane, Radcliffe, was also ordered to pay £117 in costs and charges.

A MAN has been given a conditional discharge for six months by Manchester magistrates after he admitted contacting a woman in Radcliffe on October 16 and 17 in breach of a non-molestation order. Kieron Semeniuk, aged 20, of Queen Street, Radcliffe, was also ordered to pay a £21 victim surcharge.

A DRUG driver has been banned from the roads for 18 months by Manchester magistrates after he was caught in a Vauxhall Corsa on the M66 on May 26. Daniel Holland, aged 26, of Bolton Road West, Ramsbottom, pleaded guilty to having no licence or insurance and driving after taking cocaine. He was fined £400 and ordered to pay £115 in costs and charges.

A WOMAN has been banned from the roads for 15 months after she was caught drug driving. Bolton magistrates heard how Janine Grant-Savage, aged 35, of Chesham Fold Road, Bury, had taken cocaine when she drove a Vauxhall Astra on Eccles Road, Salford, on April 26. She pleaded guilty to committing the offence as wall as driving without insurance or an MoT certificate. Grant-Savage was fined £203 and ordered to pay £115 in costs and charges.
