A number of people from Bury have recently been before the court.

Magistrates have dealt with motoring offences, attacks on police and possession of drugs.

Craig Martin drove an Audi on Red Lumb Street, Rochdale, while banned from the road and without a licence in February this year.

The 22-year-old was also found with cannabis at his home on  Kingfisher Drive, Bury, on the same date.

Martin admitted the three offences at Manchester Magistrates' Court.

He was placed on a community order to last for a year and ordered to do 40 hours of unpaid work, 25 rehabilitation activity requirement days and given six points on his licence.

Michael Sondy drove a Renault Megane carelessly at the Sheffield Parkway in December 2022.

The case against the 23-year-old was proved at Sheffield Magistrates' Court in his absence.

Sondy, of Stand Lane, Radcliffe, was banned for a year and fined £660.

Satthicha Sakprasert attacked a police officer at Fairfield General Hospital in January this year.

The 49-year-old admitted the offence at Manchester Magistrates' Court.

Sakprasert, of Kingfisher Drive, Bury, was fined £500.

This was uplifted to reflect the fact the attack had taken placed on an emergency worker.

Jonathan Gibbons drove a Ford Transit on Hampson Mill Lane, Bury, while disqualified in February this year.

The 23-year-old admitted the two offences at Manchester Magistrates Court.

Gibbons, of Keswick Drive, Bury, was banned from the roads for three months and fined £120.

Aiden Lane drove an off-road motorcycle on Castle Croft Road, Bury, with cannabis and a derivative of cocaine in his system, with no insurance and without a licence.

Lane, of Castlecroft Road, Bury, admitted the four offences at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court.

The 20-year-old was banned from the roads for a year and fined £60.
