ORGANISERS of Bury Agricultural Show have confirmed the event will take place this year despite the expected delay in the lifting of Covid restrictions on June 21.

In a statement, organisers, said: "Following the publication of the Government’s roadmap, discussions with the Local Authority and undertaking a Covid Risk Assessment we are pleased to confirm that we are holding the Bury Agricultural Show at Burrs Country Park this year on Sunday, June 27 2021.

"The Bury Agricultural Show is always a wonderful day out for the entire family. There are many attractions, competitions and exhibitions for children and adults. This annual event raises much-needed funds to help support local charities.

"There will be of course some changes to the previous format to allow for extra safety measures to be implemented.

"The main change being we will not be holding a Light Horse or Art and Crafts Section on the day to allow more room on the showground.

"Main ring attractions include the gravity defying On The Edge motorcycle display team and Little Nippers terrier team.

"Jacaranda Farm are bringing a variety of animals to allow children big and small chance to get up close to animals. Mr Alexander's travelling show will also be on site to show some old school magic displays as well.

"We are also delighted to welcome back our donkey section, and have displays of classic vehicle and military vehicles along with some lovingly restored vintage tractors on show."

There has been an agricultural show in Bury since 1943 when the first was held during the Second World War. It attracted over 8,000 visitors and has proved a popular annual event ever since.
