A MAN arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of a woman in Prestwich has been bailed but remains remanded in custody until March 23 for unrelated domestic violence offences, police have said.

Officers were called at around 12.15pm on Sunday, February 21 to Sherbourne Court, Prestwich, following reports of the sudden death of a woman.

Emergency services attended and Kimberley McAssey, 29, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder.

A Greater Manchester Police (GMP) spokesperson said: "The man is bailed in regards to the arrest on suspicion of murder however he is still on remand until March 23 for unrelated domestic violence offences. Enquiries are ongoing."

Officers are continuing to appeal for anyone with information to come forward and speak with police.
