Another Bolton GP has urged all residents to take their chance to get the coronavirus vaccine.

Dr Liaqat Natha from Kearsley Medical Centre follows Dr Sharif Uddin from the Halliwell surgery in urging residents to take up the vaccine if offered it.

Vaccination sites are open across the borough, covering all the 'Primary Care Networks' (GP practice groups), meaning all people in the most vulnerable groups in Bolton should soon receive an invitation to receive a vaccine.

Dr Natha said: "This is a simple and short message to everyone about the importance of the Covid vaccine.

"I have seen first hand my patients, families and friends affected by this horrible illness.

"This virus has made people very ill and sadly many people have died and are continuing to die as a result.

"And that's why it's so important to have this vaccine.

"I've personally had the vaccine 10 days ago and apart from a slight pain in my arm and a mild headache Ive had very little side effects.

"So it's really simple and we know there's a serious risk of getting ill with this virus, and yet on the other hand you've got the vaccine which works well and is safe.

"So I urge you, and all the community, please, please, please take the vaccine that's been offered to you and let it be a means of protection for yourself and your loved ones."
