Police have issued a Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) to a parent in Breightmet after their children flouted coronavirus rules.

They had already been issued with a formal warning but continued to ignore the restrictions.

The FPN was issued after reports of anti-social behaviour at Leverhulme Park.

Shortly after 9pm on Friday September 25, Greater Manchester Police said: "A parent has been issued with an FPN by the Breightmet Neighbourhood Team after their children failed to follow covid-19 restrictions, despite being formally warned previously.

"This was following reports of anti-social behaviour at Leverhulme Park."

Earlier this week a man and woman in Bolton were issued with £1000 FPN's after they failed to quarantine when returning to the UK.

The man, from Horwich, was fined on September 22 after he had returned to work instead of self-isolating. He returned from Spain on September 20.

Meanwhile a woman from the Darwen area was issued with a fine after returning to her job at a Bolton high school, following her return from Amsterdam. Officers visited her on September 22, after she returned to the country two days before.
