BEALES in Poole has reopened today with a new look and an impressive range of goods and concessions.

Bournemouth Echo:

While shops across the UK are closing their doors due to the coronavirus, Beales is one of the only department stores celebrating a new lease of life.

Bournemouth Echo:

Operating under the Beales name, the Dolphin Centre store is now run by new owners New Start 2020, who have employed former chief executive Tony Brown to run the operation in the same role.

Bournemouth Echo:

The ground floor beauty hall has been replaced with the three Fs - fashion, fragrance and fashion accessories.

Bournemouth Echo:

And a brow bar is ready to open as soon as soon as government Covid-19 restrictions allow.

The first floor has a huge footwear section, menswear, luggage, housewares, children's clothing, gifts, books and cards.

And work is currently under way to create a restaurant on the first floor, which will open in September.

Bournemouth Echo:

Bedding, curtains and towels have big sections on the second floor, alongside a temporary Hidden Treasures section offering one-off items at bargain prices.

This will be replaced in the coming months by a furniture section.

Bournemouth Echo:

The store currently employs 30 people, most of who worked in the former Beales stores in Poole and Bournemouth.

Bournemouth Echo:

It will open from 9.30am until 5.30pm Monday to Saturday and 10.30am until 4.30pm on Sundays.

The Beales website is also available from today.
