Two revellers have admitted their part in a late-night brawl that ended with a man being stabbed in the back.
Appearing before Swindon Crown Court yesterday, Mason Swain, 19, of Beatrice Street, Gorse Hill, pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife. He denied affray and wounding with intent .
His co-defendant, Summer Tsokos, 21, of Havisham Drive, has already pleaded guilty to affray.
A second man, Anthony Wear, 20, of Middleleaze Drive, pleaded not guilty to affray.
Prosecutor Hannah Squire said the Crown would offer no evidence against Wear and told the court that Swain’s pleas were acceptable.
Swain and Tsokos were involved in a fight, understood to have taken place in Swindon town centre, on May 26.
The former, who arrived at court wearing a suit and wheeling a large suitcase, was the man who plunged a knife into another’s back.
Judge Jason Taylor QC ordered a pre-sentence report for Swain, but warned: “You need to know your list [of previous convictions] doesn’t stand you in good stead and you were right to come prepared today.”
The pair will be sentenced in early September.
