Bolton’s seventh Aldi is set to open on Thursday.

The popular German giant will welcome customers into the new store on the corner of Manchester Road and Raikes Lane from 8am on Thursday June 11.

The new store will be run by store manager, Matthew Lane, along with 27 staff who have been recruited from the local community.

Mr Lane said: “We’re really looking forward to opening the new Aldi store here in Bolton and giving the local community access to the everyday essentials they need during this challenging time.

“It will be lovely to welcome local customers in to store to provide them with Aldi’s everyday amazing products.”

The new store will offer customers fresh, British meat products with weekly offers to complement their popular Super 6, a series of six fruit and vegetable products sold for 79p that change each week.

A Food to Go section will be available at the front of the store, with the popular discount supermarket’s famous “special buys” available in the centre aisle, with new deals available every Thursday and Sunday.

Additionally, the new store is calling on local charities and food banks in Bolton to register with Neighbourly, a community engagement platform that links businesses to charitable organisations in the local community.

Local charities that register will be able to collect surplus food and perishable products, such as fruit, vegetables and baked goods, up to five times a week to prevent wastage.

Any charities in the area that would like to partner up with the new Aldi store can email aldi@neighbourly.com to register their interest.

The popular German giant was given planning permission for the new store in December 2016.

Development on the site was ordered to begin within three years from the date that permission was granted, and residents could see a solid structure of the store by January this year.

There are already two Aldi stores on the edge of the town centre, in Trinity Street and Higher Bridge Street.

Four more stores are currently open in Breightmet, Horwich, Over Hulton, and Westhoughton.

Aldi, Britain’s fifth largest supermarket, has 880 stores and more than 34,000 employees across the country.

The firm also has a distribution centre in Logistics North industrial estate, Over Hulton.

The new store will be open from 8am-10pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am-4pm on Sundays.
