ONE more person has died with coronavirus at the Royal Bolton Hospital, latest figures show.

Statistics released by NHS England today reveal that one person is recorded as having lost their battle with the virus at the hospital on Monday.

Since the pandemic began, after contracting the virus, a total of 193 people have died at the hospital. The figure does not include those who have died in care homes or the community.

But the latest death at the hospital is the only one recorded as occurring there in the last four days.

NHS England says a total of 23,953 people are now recorded as having died in the country's hospitals, an increase of 244 on the previous day's total. In the North West, it has risen by 44 to 3,655.

NHS England releases figures each day showing the dates of every coronavirus-related death in hospitals in England, often including previously uncounted deaths that took place several days ago. This is because of the time it takes for deaths to be confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19and post-mortem examinations to be processed. Nationally April 8 saw the most hospital deaths occurring on a single day, with 888.
