A man has been arrested after spraying someone in the eyes with bleach.
At around 10am on Thursday police were called to Chorley town centre following reports of a man spraying someone in the eyes with a substance believed to be bleach.
The man was located near to the Asda store on Bolton Street and arrested on suspicion of assault.
A spokesperson for the police said: "This morning we have received reports of a male in Chorley town centre spraying someone in the eyes with a substance believed to be bleach.
"We have attended quickly and located the suspect near to Asda where he has been arrested on suspicion of assault.
"Contrary to the belief of the spectators, he has not been arrested for begging."
An ambulance spokesperson said: "We were called to a private address on Pall Mall, Chorley, at around 9.56am on Thursday."
