A NEW all-male sponsored walk is taking place in Warrington this year and you even get a free pint on your way round.

St Rocco’s Hospice is looking for men to help make a difference to patient care by getting on the move.

March to the Match is a sponsored men-only 10km walk starting at Orford Park and finishing at the Halliwell Jones Stadium with entry into Warrington Wolves vs Huddersfield Giants.

It is a great opportunity to get together with your mates and make this a day to remember.

You will also have the chance to stop off at a pub of your choice on the way, with one free pint included at the pub, and enjoy a well-earned pie and a pint at the end.

Soft drinks will be available for under 18s.

A spokesperson for St Rocco's said: “We’re so excited to be able to launch the first ever March to The Match and we’re really hoping that the men of Warrington really come out to show their support for St Rocco’s.

"It takes £4.2 million per year to keep our doors open so the fundraising that comes from the community from events such as this really does help us to continue our care and support to those who need us most.

"We’re hoping that March to the Match will be as popular with men as Starlight is for our female supporters so we’re really looking forward to seeing the turnout for this new event."

The walk will take place on Saturday, July 25 with registration opening at 9.30am and the walk kicking off at 11am.

The rugby match starts at 3pm.

Men aged 14 and older can take part in this event. Each walker must register to take part in the walk by completing the registration form online or over the phone.

Although women are unable to take part in the walk, they can still get involved by volunteering on the day.

Extra tickets for friends and family not taking part in the walk, including under 14s, may also be purchased at a discounted rate at the point of registration and collected at the finish line on the day.

Registration for the event will close on Wednesday, July 22.

An early bird discount of £20 for a standard ticket and £15 for a non-match ticket is on offer until the end of March.

Registration includes entry into the match, two pints or soft drinks, pie and t-shirt.
