BURY ABC boxer Abdul Khan helped Greater Manchester beat Liverpool in the North of England section of the Girls and Boys Club Championships.
Khan, from Bolton, won on a split decision against Thomas Musker, of Birkenhead Venture ABC, at Westhill High School in Stalybridge on Sunday.
He will now be in action again this weekend in the next round of the tournament.
Three days earlier, two other Bury boxers were in action at the Tranmere Rovers Sports and Social Club on The Wirral.
Seventeen-year-old Lewis Spanner, fighting at senior level at 66kg, beat M Murphy of Wallasey ABC on a split decision.
But 15-year-old Salus Price, fighting at 56kg, lost out to Wildcard ABC's Declan Hunt, who was 10 months older, by a unanimous decision.
