THIS week’s delve into the picture archives at The Bolton News has unearthed this photograph of Hough Fold Junior School football team from March 1984.

The information accompanying the picture says the team were five-a-side champions that year and they are pictured with their trophy.

Do you remember that team or recognise anyone pictured?

Did you play for the team at that time or have any other memories?

Email david.pye@nqnw.co.uk with any recollections.

The second picture was featured in last week's sporting nostalgia section and features St Dominic’s football team from May 1981.

Reader Ron Matthews emailed in and said: "I only know one person from the St Dominic's team – Mick Hanratty, who is on the front left-hand side, next to the lad in the pullover."

Ged Bratherton had more information and added: "A blast from the past, I played for St Dom's and the game ended 0-0.

"The only thing I can remember of the game was the pitch was rock hard and using the same baths after the match that Pele and the Brazil team would have used in 1966.

"The replay was also a draw with Derek Walsh heading an equaliser late in the game and we had to play a second replay the beginning of the next season, which we won at Harper Green.

"It's still talked about when a few of us get together from time to time – no penalty shootouts then.

"I can name all of the players except one so apologies to the sub front row on the left.

"They are, back, from left, Martin Roe, Derek Walsh, me, Clive Matthews, Steve Matthews, John Coop; front, not sure, Mick Hanratty, Mick Gavin, Dave Pitfield, Chris Naylon, Alan Roberts, Brian Pitfield.

"Many thanks for these memories."
