AN AUDI driver came away uninjured after his car mounted the pavement and collided with metal railings.
Fire crews and police were called to the crash in Water Street, Radcliffe, shortly before 9.15pm yesterday.
The male driver had managed to get out of the Audi RS3, and came away unscathed, fire crews said.
Tony Wellock, watch manager at Whitefield Fire Station, said: "No one was injured.
"Part of a stone brick wall was damaged. The car had also collided with metal railings before coming to a stop.
"The driver was able to get out of the car.
"It was quite busy in the area at the time. It was fortunate that no pedestrians had been hit.
"There was a lot of steam coming off the vehicle so we made it safe.
"Police attended and the driver was taken into custody."
Crews remained at the scene for about 30 minutes.
Police are investigating. The Bury Times has contacted Greater Manchester Police.
