DRIVERS are experiencing long delays on the M60 following a crash near Prestwich this morning.
The collision, involving two vehicles, occurred on the clockwise carriageway between Junction 17 for Whitefield Interchange and Junction 18 at Simister Island.
Traffic officers, police, and Highways England patrols were called to the scene shortly before 6.50am.
All lanes have since been reopened, with the vehicles involved having been moved to the hard shoulder.
Highways England tweeted at about 6.30am: "Collision on CW #M60 — car in lane 4, car in lane 2. Just after #junction 17 #Whitefield. Traffic officers and police en route. Take care in area."
There are said to be tailbacks to Junction 15 at Swinton Interchange, with delays of about 40 minutes.
