A MAN "barricaded" himself inside a flat, prompting a three-hour response from emergency services.
Police and fire crews from Whitefield and Agecroft were called to Leah Gardens in Kersal Road, Prestwich, in the early hours of this morning.
About 10 firefighters assisted the police in gaining entry to the apartment, which is part of the Leah Gardens block of flats, used for adult social housing and managed by Great Places Housing Group.
Emergency services were called at about 3.45am and remained at the scene for between two and three hours, while specialist officers negotiated with the occupier.
The Bury Times has contacted Greater Manchester Police.
