On Friday morning officers spotted an Audi A6 travelling at speed on the M60 motorway at around.

After the car failed to stop for police, officers pursued the vehicle in the direction of Prestwich.

But during the chase the officers lost sight of the Audi as it sped off.

A short time later, however, as they came down Bury Old Road, they found the car on its roof opposite Heaton Park.

Three women passengers — aged 21, 22 and 25 — and the driver were taken to hospital with minor injuries, but released later the same day.

A police scene remained in place on Bury Old Road throughout the day while officers carried out investigations.
