A DENTAL practice in Stanley has beaten competition from across the UK to be crowned Dental Team of the Year 2019.

Honour Health, based on Front Street in Stanley, has won the accolade at the prestigious Dental Awards in Birmingham.

The award was presented to principal dentist Onkar Dhanoya and dentist Gulshan Dhanoya, on behalf of the whole team who work at The Honour Health Group.

Honour Health Stanley has been looking after the dental health of several generations of patients since 1986, when Onkar Dhanoya took over the practice. The team celebrated the practice’s 30th anniversary in 2016.

When making the application for Team of the Year, Honour Health recognised longstanding members of the Stanley team such as dental nurse Julie Hughes who recently celebrated 20 years of working at Honour Health, and practice administration manager Marie Rackham who has worked at the practice for more than a decade.

Honour Health was also named as a finalist in three other categories. They were Dentist of the Year, Onkar Dhanoya, Therapist of the Year, Caroline Short, and Practice of the Year.

Principal dentist Onkar Dhanoya said: “This is a huge achievement for our team and we’re thrilled to have been recognised for our dedication to helping our patients achieve smiles they love.

"We are so proud to be the only dental group to fly the flag for the North East on this prestigious national stage. Well done to our excellent dentists, therapists, nurses, receptionists and management team, and a big thank you to our patients who make coming to work such a pleasure for all of us.”

The independent, family-owned Honour Health group consists of three practices across the North East, in Stanley, Ponteland and Jesmond.
