ARE you ready to get Pretty Muddy?

The annual Cancer Research fundraiser is this year open to men, women and children and there's still time to take part.

Whether you signed up months ago or you're still unsure, here's everything you need to know.

What is it?

Organisers say Race for Life Pretty Muddy is a 5k muddy obstacle course where you can take on obstacles including scrambling over the A-frame and crawling through the mud pit while having fun with your friends and raising valuable funds for beating cancer.

You must be over 13 years old to take part in this event.

What about Pretty Muddy Kids?

This new event takes place before the main race.

Pretty Muddy Kids is an obstacle course designed just for children including scramble nets, space hoppers, mud chutes and muddy pools.

The event is open to boys and girls aged from five to 12 years old.

Bu there is a minimum height requirement of 1.2m and all children must be accompanied by a supervising adult, who have free entry to the event.

When does it take place?

Sunday, June 2, from 10.45am at Victoria Park, Knutsford Road, Latchford, WA4 1DU for the adult event.

Pretty Muddy Kids is at the same place from 10am.

Warrington Guardian:

What do I need?

Remember there are no showers or lockers at Pretty Muddy events but there will be a bag drop area.

What facilities are there?

Toilets

Refreshments

Parking available

Suitable for dogs

But organisers say this event is not suitable for wheelchair users or pushchairs.

Warrington Guardian:

What will the course be like?

The Pretty Muddy 5K Warrington route is a circular route around Victoria Park.

The course is flat and on grass and tarmac throughout so you can enjoy the obstacles without worrying about too many hills.

What if my child gets tired during Pretty Muddy Kids?

Pretty Muddy Kids is a 5km course around the park but at the majority of venues, there will be a shortcut available at approximately 2km or 3km, which will lead back to the finish line.

This will be signposted on the day.

If the shortcut is taken, it may mean missing out some of the obstacles, but we will make sure all children get to take part in the muddy slide at the end.

Adults accompanying children will run alongside the course but will not be allowed to take part on the obstacles.

Where do we meet?

The start line is within the main field at the centre of Victoria Park.

Can people who aren't taking part in the race come along too?

Friends and family are welcome to attend to support you.

They can stroll around the stalls and refreshments in the main event area and cheer you over the nearby obstacles including the big slide.

Warrington Guardian:

Will the Warrington Guardian be taking pictures?

Of course. Don't forget to give our photographer your best mud-covered grin.

Pictures will be on our website after the event and in next week's newspaper.

What's the weather looking like for it?

It's not looking quite as sunny as previous years but shouldn't be chilly.

Temperatures are currently predicted to be 17 degrees for everyone on the start line rising to 18 during the morning.

There's currently a chance of light rain and a gentle breeze.
