LET yourself be dazzled by the bright lights of the circus as Circus Funtasia returns to Bury.

The show includes moments for all the family, from hilarious comedy to fearless fire-eating and death-defying feats of acrobatics.

You can also expect to see some jaw-dropping motorcycle tricks, talented gymnasts and surprising jugglers.

Anyone interested in catching the show can see it live from Burrs Country Park each evening from Wednesday until Sunday.

TALK About Town at the East Lancs Railway gives people a chance to discuss their memories of a hot cup of tea.

The sessions - on Sundays from 11am-1pm - include stories from across the decades shared by people who lived through them. Entry is free.

Meet a legend of the beautiful game

ONE of football’s great players is set to meet with fans at a special event at a Bury venue.

Iconic Liverpool star John Barnes will appear at the Best Western Hotel, in Walshaw Road, from 7pm until 11pm on Friday.

Give something back

ANIMAL lovers will be able to help out our furry friends this weekend with a special event at The Rock.

Bleakholt Day encourages people to donate to the Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary while out shopping, with plenty of fun activities on the go.

This includes a rodeo sheep, animal-themed stilt walkers and plenty of charity challenges.

The event is on between 11am and 3pm.

The best in the business

THE WORLD’S best fighters will descend on Manchester this week as the World Taekwondo Championships come to town.

The five-day event is split into a number of sessions but it will be held at the Manchester Arena from Wednesday morning until Sunday evening.
