A BOLTON number plate customising company sealed the dream deal of a lifetime after being approached by two of the UK’s biggest sporting stars.

When the Number Plate Clinic (NPC) received a message from a certain champion boxer enquiring about a custom design for his new McLaren hypercar, staff initially thought they were being pranked.

However shock soon gave way to elation as British boxing legend Chris Eubank Jr’s manager called up the Tonge Moor Road-based firm to seal the deal.

NPC’s Yacoob Ahmed said: “We were absolutely over the moon when we were approached by Eubank’s manager.

“As a huge boxing fan you can imagine this was very overwhelming and a great opportunity for our business.”

Over the next few days Mr Eubank’s manager chatted with Mr Ahmed to discuss the styles of number plates offered by the company, and told them that firm’s designs were the only ones Mr Eubank had seen which stood out.

NPC then rustled up the custom design for Mr Eubank and prepared to send it off.

However the surprise did not end there as the firm was instructed by Mr Eubank’s manager not to post licence plates, but instead to travel down to London and fit them in person.

Staff from the firm then headed down to the capital with a bonus gift of a pair of plates for the boxer’s coach.

Once in London the NPC team were greeted not only by Mr Eubank, but also by another star of the ring and UK sporting legend, his father, Chris Eubank Snr. As they were handed the keys to the exotic McLaren motor and got to work Mr Eubank senior told the NPC team that he was also a big fan of their work and put in an order for his own NPC plates.

Mr Ahmed said: “We were really not expecting Chris Eubank Snr to turn up. We had no idea he would turn up.

“To us this was a great opportunity and he put us on the spot and set us a challenge.

“We had two days to design and the plates over to him, which we managed and he was over the moon.”
