A MANAGEMENT consultancy firm is celebrating after hitting six-figure revenues thanks to a Silicon Valley-inspired goal-setting framework.

There Be Giants, based in Newtons Business Centre at The Rock, has seen its business take off in the first quarter of 2019, with revenues reaching £200,000 by March 31.

Its rapid success is down to its approach of helping organisations implement a goal-setting framework known as OKRs, or objectives and key results.

The company was founded by ex-Fujitsu employee Roger Longden in 2010 and became one of only a handful of dedicated OKR consultancies in 2016 — many of which are based in California.

So far this year, There Be Giants has received international interest from companies in Singapore, Souther Africa and Jamaica, and is already working with a number of UK and European gaming and software firms.

Mr Longden said: “It’s been a fast-paced few years for There Be Giants and a very exciting time as agile ways of working have become more widely known and understood in terms of the benefits they can deliver to an organisation."

OKRs work by helping to focus every member of a business or organisation on achieving goals through specific measurable actions.

They also communicate and monitor a groups progress towards achieving their goals.

Mr Longden said: “OKRs help everyone see progress towards common goals and the overall strategic objective of the company – they are short, ambitious signals of where you want to go providing the actual deliverables for each objective which marks your progress towards success – keeping you focussed and on track.”
