YOU could get you hands on new comic books this Saturday all for free.

The giveaway includes comics from some of the world’s biggest publishers, including Marvel and DC, as part of Free Comic Book Day.

The annual international event held on May 4 sees retailers across the UK and US giveaway comic books from their shops free of charge, to encourage new readers and welcome new customers.

This year Bolton’s new comic book shop, Cherry Moon, is joining the fun.

All you have to do is get yourself down to the store in Bridge Street from 10am for you chance to take advantage of the giveaway.

You can then take your pick of three selected new comics from major publishers, including DC Comics, Marvel Comics, IDW and Valiant Comics.

The deal is on a strictly first come, first served basis; no reservations are possible and once they are gone, then they are gone.

The store is also offering a 10 per cent discount on food and drink for anyone wearing Star Wars apparel in a special May the 4th deal.

Cherry Moon opened in July 2018 and is the town centre's only unique comic book store and pop culture cafe, combine comic books, board games and tasty treats.

It is owned and run by Bolton couple and comic book fanatics John and Caroline Crilly, and stocks thousands of new and retro comics ­— including Marvel and DC Comics, many from Mr Crilly's own extensive collection from the 1980s and 90s.

Customers can also buy board games, toys and retro video games and Cherry Moon hosts games nights and clubs.

The shop is open daily from 10am to 6pm Monday to Wednesday and Friday, from 11am to 4pm on Sundays and has a late opening on Thursday from 10am to 10pm.
