A GROUP of creatives hosted their first ever art fair.

Ainsworth Artists, who run as a co-operative in the village, invited residents to their event on Saturday.

The fair attracted several visitors who perused the work on display and received top tips for their own artistic exploits.

One of the members said: "Ainsworth Artists' first at fair was a great success, attracting many visitors.

"People were interested to see local artists at work and a good number signed up for future demonstrations.

"We hope to repeat the event at some point in the near future."

A large collection of work went on display at Ainsworth Community Hall, in Bury Old Road, with some available for purchase.

A number of people took to social media to praise the success of the event.

Gillian O'Rourke wrote: "Me and my family enjoyed going to the art fair. I must say all the artists were very friendly and gave my son a lot of tips and pointers to work on with his art.

"He is already asking when the next one is, thank you for giving him the confidence and boost he needed."
