THREE teenagers are due to appear at crown court following a robbery at Whitefield Metrolink tram stop.

At about 7.40pm on Friday, April 12, police were called to the station in Stanley Road.

They arrested three teenagers on suspicion of robbery and drugs offences. They were taken into police custody.

Greater Manchester Police's Bury South team posted on social media today: "Apologies for the delay of the update regarding the Whitefield Metrolink incident on April 12 this year.

"As already stated the female, aged 14, has been charged with robbery, possession of a blade in a public place and an assault on emergency worker x2.

"A male, aged 15, has been charged with robbery.

"A male, aged 17, has been charged with robbery, possession of a blade in a public place, possession of cannabis and criminal damage x2 (to his police cell).

"The 20-year-old male who was not involved with the robbery but refused to leave the scene and was later found in possession of a large amount of drugs is currently under investigation with no court date yet set.

"The three youths above who were involved with the robbery will be attending Minshull Street Crown Court, Manchester on August 22, 2019.

"Please note that there will be no further updates until the court case has finished."
