EVERYONE is invited to find out more about the role of physiotherapy as part of a free talk next week.

Joanne Howard, the lead physiotherapist at Fairfield General Hospital will show the role physio plays in good recovery.

She said: "Physiotherapy can help to manage many conditions and has an important role to play in the assessment and treatment of a diverse group of patients, as well as having a key role in linking with external agencies to improve the general health and well-being of the population.”

People admitted to hospital for a stroke, those to unwell to remain at home or with deteriorating existing conditions can all benefit from physiotherapy.

The talk will provide a brief overview of services and links outside the hospital to GPs and voluntary organisations.

The talk will be held on Wednesday, April 2, from 2pm to 3pm at the education centre at Fairfield General Hospital. It is free to attend.
