A MAN who was driving a car suspected to have been involved in a previous a robbery was arrested after being found with a large knife.

Police patrols spotted a Ford Fiesta, allegedly connected to a previous robbery, in the north of the borough before pursuing it to Whitefield.

The driver was then stopped and after being searched by police was found in possession of a large knife and tested positive for cannabis.

He was also found to be without a licence and insurance and was arrested, police say.

Following the incident GMP Bury North tweeted: “Patrol sights Ford Fiesta previously involved in a Robbery and follows it in to @GMPWhitefield. Driver arrested after being found in possession of a large knife. Also tests positive for Cannabis and has no licence or insurance. #fatal4 #driveinsured vehicle #seized.”
