ROBERT De Niro could be about to become the new face of Warburtons.
According to The Sun, the Taxi Driver star will fly into the UK this weekend ahead of shooting the Bolton-based bread firm's new advert.
The newspaper reports that a source has told them De Niro will take over from Peter Kay, who is taking a break from work.
De Niro would not be the first Hollywood A-lister to take on the gig — after Sylvester Stallone starred in one of Warburtons' ads in 2015.
During filming, Sly even scaled Bolton Town Hall's steps to recreate the famous scene from Rocky, leaving bystanders in Victoria Square gobsmacked.
But anyone hoping to catch a glimpse of De Niro in Bolton town centre is likely to be disappointed as it is thought that filming will take place in London, despite Warburtons bosses remaining tight-lipped about the location.
The news comes just days after it was reported that the 75-year-old actor had split up with his wife of more than 20 years.
