ROTARIANS are vying for a £10,000 grant to help them continue providing a festival treat to residents year on year.
The Rotary Club of Radcliffe is in need of a new sleigh for their Santa rounds — which generate some £8,000 to enable the Club to carry out its vital community work.
The club's existing sleigh has been running for more than 18 consecutive years and is past its best.
Secretary Gillian Stainthorpe said: "Father Christmas needs a new sleigh.
"We had done some work on the sleigh so we can hopefully get through this winter season. But the sleigh is no longer fit for purpose and we desperately need some money for a new one."
An application has been submitted to Bury Council for a capital grant of £10,000.
