A POPULAR Ramsbottom home décor and gift shop has moved into its new premises.

Hearts for Homes launched in Bolton Street two years ago after owner Kerry Khan decided on a career change after working in finance and as a community nurse.

The shop specialises in handmade items that are made with love, care and attention and also more contemporary items to add character to homes.

And it has also developed a reputation as the go to place for Ramsbottom-themed gifts, including artwork from local artists.

In the two years since it opened, it has proved a huge hit among locals; so much so that Ms Khan decided to seek out a larger, more central location.

The shop has moved into the former site of Bridge Street News, in Bridge Street, and opened its doors to the public on Saturday morning.

Ms Khan said: “It was a fantastic first day - even more successful than we could have imagined. The support from customers old and new was fantastic and everyone loved the new shop.

"I had been in the old shop for two and a half years and we have done really well, but I am hoping moving down to the centre will step it up a little because there is more footfall down there.”

While the new shop will initially use the building’s ground floor, Ms Khan is also hoping to bring the first floor into use before Christmas.

The shop will be open six days a week, excluding Mondays. For more, visit www.facebook.com/heartsforhomesuk.
