Farnworth Cricket Club
FIREFIGHTERS were called to a fire at a cricket club, believed to have been started by youths.
A crew from Farnworth Fire Station turned out to Farnworth Cricket Club, off Lavender Road, at about 11pm last night.
They discovered a large pile of wood on fire at the rear of the building, which the club had reportedly been stockpiling ahead of Bonfire Night.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing a group of youngsters fleeing the scene shortly after the fire broke out.
