MAJOR road works have got under way in Prestwich.
Taking place on Butterstile Lane, between Bury New Road and Agecroft Road, the resurfacing work is being undertaken as part of Bury Council's Highway Investment Strategy.
The work has been launched to take place during the school summer holidays and is expected to run until September.
Bury Council has said that disruption is unavoidable but aims to keep this to a minimum.
During this period phased road closures will be in operation from 9am to 5pm and there will be temporary traffic signals outside of peak times from Monday to Friday, while preliminary work is conducted.
